Past Exhibitions 2010 & 2009

Colour Chart: Reinventing Colour, 1950 to today
Date: 29th May until 13th September 2009
Location: Tate Liverpool, Liverpool

Colour Chart: Reinventing Colour, 1950 to Today takes the commercial colour chart as its point of departure, addressing the impact of mass-produced colour on the art of the past sixty years. It is the first major exhibition devoted to the shifting moment in twentieth-century art when artists began to perceive colour as ‘readymade’ rather than as a vehicle of spiritual or emotional content.

So far 2 of Roxane’s images are currently being displayed in the online gallery which can be located here. The online gallery is also being displayed on a screen within the Tate Liverpool exhibition.

Exhibition: Smile
Monday 29th March until Thursday 8th April  2010
Red Gate Gallery, 209a Coldharbour Lane, London

Smile Exhibition Flyer

Smile was a collaborative group show displaying works in various media including acrylic, oil, photography, new media, performance and installation. The exhibition Smile aims to act as a cultural antidote to the recent global depression, natural disasters and a general mood of despondency. The art work shown portrays subtlety rather than shock value seen in recent mainstream exhibitions, the latter tending to alienate, rather than involve, the viewer.

Each artist participating in this show has their own way to express happiness and this exhibition demonstrates that no matter where one comes from, one can always find a reason to smile.
